Taverna: important centre of catanzarese presila, immersed in the green, whose descents date back to the mythical Greek city "Trischise" today famous thanks to its most distinguished citizen: the painter Mattia Preti, knight of Malta. The little village presents a precious artistic-cultural heritage , united to Mattia Preti and his less famous brother Gregorio’s work. Their paintings are today preserved in Saint Barbara and Saint Domenico’s marvellous churches and in the civic museum.(km 60)
